Depression

It was always something more. They aren’t “just” sad. Talk to them before it’s too late.

Person 1: Honey, you don’t have depression. I feel sad sometimes, too. Don’t be so dramatic and stop begging for attention, you seem desperate.

Person 2: Thanks, mom. I felt comfortable enough to speak about my rapidly diminishing mental health and you turned it against me. Wow, by depression is cured! I am no longer depressed.
