to manage, work out, solve unpleasant and tiresome duties, such as raising money to live or walking to the store while stoned: cf. San Francisco street-crossing signs embedded in the gravel : PED XING
The opposite of hallucinating (to hallucinate: to have fun, feel free, be easy, be in tune with life, enjoy and understand, opposite of PED-X

I've been PED XING all week, I can't wait to skip town tomorrow and go see The Grateful Dead.
