If the overbearing presence of another friend (male or female) prevents a male from speaking with other females he wishes to engage in flirtatious acts or conversations then he is being cock-blocked.
Cock-Blocking: Jim wanted to talk with the pretty girls at the bar, but no other girls would talk to him because his (non-romantic) friend Sally was sitting next to him. Sally was cock%20blocking Jim.
