Refers to action of taking smaller amounts of money that is left around by people. This can be in dollar bills or change, or a combination of both. The "classic" is $2, but it can be any amount.

Can be used as a verb or adverb.
I can't find my $2 I left for the paperboy. I've been montysteined.

I need some money. Maybe I will montystein this $.25 from the game of quarters last night.

I did not montystein you, the wind must have blown away your money you left under Heineken Light bottle.
