Northern saying. See shine a light. Shine a brick is what is said when you don't know what the hell you're on about, somehow replacing the word light with brick.
Person 1: "Shine a brick its cold"
Person 2: "isn't it meant to be shine a light?"
Person 1: "no its shine a brick, ask any old person"
