"Lock the hubs" is motorist jargon for engaging four wheel drive. Older trucks & SUVs as well as some newer base model vehicles are equipped with manual locking hubs rather than automatic on the fly 4×4. Such vehicles require driver to park, shift transfer case in the cab to 4-HI or 4-LO AND go outside to turn dail on front wheel hubs to "LOCK" before proceeding. Some folks driving in irregular winter conditions will lock the hubs but stay in two wheel drive until they need 4×4. Running locked hubs with 2 wheel drive otherwise increases front tire wear.
Tyler: Hey Tom, I'm planning on going skiing today, how are the roads going up to the mountain?
Tom: Roads are a bit snowy & icy in places but if you lock the hubs, you should be fine!

Get the lock the hubs mug.
Very common greeting in Austria and Bavaria loosely translated into "good day" having Catholic origins. Despite declining church attendance / affiliation, it's not unusual in those regions to hear it from an immigration/customs officer, a train conductor or even a McDonald's employee.

May draw some sarcastic replies from Protestant Germans up north because they tend to interpret that greeting as "greet God".
Food stand employee: Grüß Gott!
Customer: Ich hätte gerne einen Hot Dog und einen Krügel Bier. (I would like a hot dog and a pint of beer)

The German way of saying fuck this (or that). It should be noted that with an "e" at the end it simply refers to excrement aka shit. Take the "e" of Scheiße and it makes for a badass way to insult someone or something!
Ich wollte im März 2020 Urlaub in die Karibik machen, aber wegen Covid-19 war alles geschlossen. Scheiß auf das Coronavirus! (I wanted to vacation in the Caribbean in March of 2020 but everything was shut down due to covid-19. Fuck the coronavirus! )
