pulling an Annie

(verb) 1. Arbitrarily skipping an essential part of one's day, i.e. work or classes. 2. Leaving work early without a valid reason. 3. Crafting detailed excuses for poor attendance at work, such as giving a roommate a ride or studying for non-existant tests.
Ashley called in sick to work twice last week. If she keeps pulling an Annie, she's going to get fired.
