Hickory Tavern

references a small town in upstate South Carolina, which only has one red light, where there are almost no police. There is, however ,a volunteer fire department, 2 gas stations, and one dollar general, which the residents take great pride in.

Tom: I went to Hickory Tavern last weekend.
Larry: Why?
Tom: I don't know. There really wasn't anything to do. I did go to the dollar general, though. Looked like everyone in town was there...
