Multiality
The realization that more than two things can be true at the same time.
DBT: “Two things can be true.”
Me: “Cool. But what if it’s seven?”
You can love someone, be angry with them, understand them, disagree with them, feel hurt by them, and still want the best for them—all at the same time.
Duality is “both/and.”
Multiality is “yes, and…and…and…and…”
Basically, refusing to flatten a complicated human experience just because two is easier to count.
