A friend of the oposite sex that you don't want to sleep with. Or, if you're gay/lesbian, a friend of the same sex that you don't want to sleep with. Or, if you're bi and your friend is of either sex and you still don't want to sleep with them.

Yeah, Carol is a total hottie, but we're just platonopals.
