shoveling out

in snowy climates, (such as New England) the process or act of snow shoveling large amts. of snow, ice, & dirt from around and on your car & driveway in order to get your car out of it's snow entraction (usually done in order to get to/from place of business)

i was late to work b'c i was shoveling out from last night's snow storm
