Malachron 

1. An instance where two events that would be harmless individually cause a disaster when they occur simltaneously.

2. A case of bad timing--REALLY bad timing.
It was a classic malachron that they raised the drawbridge to accommodate a passing ship

just as a parade of fire trucks and ambulances approached, heading toward the factory explosion. It would be ten minutes before the emergency vehicles could continue on to their destination.
