To estimate or explain something with little or no data, usually when the problem is brought to attention. Probably a slang term derived from a cowboy pulling his gun "off the hip" for little or no reason.
I asked for july's sale numbers, and the off the hip response was around 100,000 dollars.

My boss asked me why the servers kept crashing. "Off the hip, I would say it's because they're not plugged into a UPS, and the power is not clean. But I would really need to review the crash logs for a more authoritative answer".

Booger Butt

A "Booger Butt" is someone who is mischievous or misbehaves, nut not with evil intentions. Usually said of a small child, but can also be said of anyone who behaves like a small child. Also "boogerbutt".
Johnnie snuck into the cookies again. He's such a little booger butt.

Dejackification

The process of undoing a completely clusterfucked build process. Used in both in Agile and Waterfall methods. Usually this process happens right after a Death March, but can also happen as part of Short Timer syndrome.
A developer haphazardly converts 190 projects to Visual Studio 2010, .Net 4, and the newest version of all control packages, and then leaves. After the fallout is cleaned up, a dejackification process must happen before anyone can actually do any work again.
