The Long Lunch is the act of sending an employee to a lunch without pay and often without an end.

Jordi: "Hey Alex, have you seen William recently?"
Alex: "I think Jason sent him on the long lunch."
Jordi: "I guess we'll never see him again. Poor bloke."
