To create a simulated data set or process for development, testing, and benchmarking which is greatly similar to production data and/or processing techniques, but lacking confidential information which cannot be trusted to the malicious develop/QA person. Polluzination is also known as data cleansing and sanitizaion, but it sounds much better!
