Primer
A person (usually a consistent sexual partner) you sleep with specifically before going on a date in order to get the jitters out, lower sexual tension, and show up calmer and more present. The idea is to “prime” yourself so you’re not distracted, overthinking, or acting weird on the actual date.
Unlike a regular booty call or friends-with-benefits arrangement, the primer’s main function is pre-date nervous system regulation. The term gained traction in 2026 as a cleaner alternative to older, cruder descriptions of the same behavior.
