Mushroom hair is an awful hairstyle popular in the mid 1970's to 1984. It spawned from Vidal Sasoon hairstyles in the 1960's. Many government employees enjoyed this hairstyle. Older black women still sport this style today.

I want mushroom hair just like Tootie on "The Facts of Life."
