geek hick

A person with country or working-class roots and a technical brain. Hands in the dirt, grease, wiring, or shop work; head in code, diagnostics, systems, music production, or how machines actually work. Not the city-only nerd stereotype and not the “backwards rural” stereotype. A geek hick can wrench and also read the schematic.

He pulled the engine in the afternoon and mixed the track after dark. Total geek hick.
