(verb) To date someone for a long time, and then break up with them for no substantial reason.

Joe: What happened to Katie, bro? I thought you guys had it good.
Alex: Wasn't feeling it anymore so I perned her.

Steph: Oh my God! Why are you crying?
Anna: He perned me, just like that. Three whole years and he perns me.
