The exploitation of one's own homosexuality to renew interest in a celebrity career that has, by all accounts, jumped the shark many moons ago.

Anne Heche and George Takei (of TV's Star Trek) are both guilty of some major gaysploitation after outing themselves on the mass media scene, thus renewing their media sweetheart status.
