splew. (n) Affectionate term for a friend on the shady streets of Newport, believed to be coined by the mysterious and enigmatic Goldie Lookin' Chain in the late twentieth century. Similar in meaning to clart, blud and braa.

"You fucking alrigh' or wha' splew?"
