Coined in 2024 by lobbyists to refer to a type of semi public insurance fraud, which involves setting fire to things instead of renovating.

“Hey man, I can’t afford to renovate my house. What do you think I should do?”…”I don’t know man, why don’t you pull a Chamonix Brûlée and get your insurance to pay for it”
