A bad dream iduring daylight hours. Derived from the term 'nightmare', the opposite of 'night' is 'day' and the opposite of 'horse' is 'mare', hence the term 'dayhorse.'

Lends itself to the verb, 'dayhorsing'; someone who is in the process of having a bad dream in the day time.

"Oh look, Jimmy is dayhorsing again."

Someone who has regular dayhorses is known as a 'dayhorser'.
Johnny had a really terrifying dayhorse after lunch.
