An Australian adaptation of 'mate', whereby one pronounces the word by creating an 'uh' sound rather than the traditional 'ay' sound. Can drift into a genuine call of 'mutt' when talking to a dickhead.
Mate 1: "G'day Maht, how ya goin! Ya comin down the pub?"
Mate 2: "Yeah fuck oath maht, nothing better after clocking off work early ay?"
Friendly neighbourhood dickhead: "You boys off to the pub again are we?"
Mate 1&2: "Fuck off mutt!"
