Abyad

Abyad or Abyaz (transliteration: Abyaḍ, Arabic: أبيض) is an ancient Arabic name for boys that means “the color white”1, “silver” (the metal)2 and “sword”3.

Abyad may also be spelled as Abiad, Abiaz, Abyez and Ebyez.

The word Abyaḍ is used in the Quran in verse 2:187
Abyad is white while Aswad is black.
