1. A statement, fact, or piece of information that contradicts or opposes another claim.

2. Evidence or reasoning that directly challenges the truth or consistency of a prior assertion.

The second claim you just made is countrey to the other one.

Her explanation seemed plausible, but there was a clear countrey in the report.

Every argument needs to consider possible countreys to remain strong.
