ARFID, or Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, is an eating disorder. ARFID is a fairly new eating disorder. Children with ARFID are extremely selective eaters and sometimes have little interest in eating food. Though more common in children, ARFID can also be observed in adults.
ARFID IS 𝗡𝗢𝗧 RELATED TO NEGATIVE BODY IMAGE.
Some symptoms/ behavioral changes include:
- Feeling full before meals or having no appetite.
- Difficulty paying attention.
- Limiting how much food you eat.
- Only eating foods with certain textures.
- Fear of what could happen after eating like vomiting or choking.
- Picky eating gets worse and limits the range of foods able to be eaten.
- Eating less than 22 foods.
