Similar to cotton mouth, but relates to typing too much in a conversation, thus causing cotton fingers. Cotton fingers make typing much harder than normal, requiring application of a moisturizer to be cured.
Sean: Hey man! What are you doing tonight?
John: Can barely talk right now, have a bad case of cotton fingers from typing all day. Call me??
