jaxtopose

v. (-posed, -posing) To insert oneself into the subject matter of a conversation, in an unwarranted or irrelevant manner.
Also jaxtoposition (n.)
"I would have never expected there to be any way she could bring the conversation back to her, but then she jaxtoposed the funeral we had just returned from with this one time she went to a funeral."
