The psychological urge to start a pointless argument, not out of any personality clash or personal issues, but just to get the adrenalin rush from the conflict thus generated. If the other intended person, or persons do not rise to the conflict, but stay fairly cool and calm, the Arguebater may try and start another row, on a different topic. This repeated attempt at starting domestic or workplace conflict, is arguebation. The arguebater needs to arguebate. Frequently and in public.
Sally from HR is always trying to needle us about something. First its this, then that. Why doesn't she shut up and just get on with her day?
She has a throbbing urge to arguebate. She can't help it. She's addicted to arguebation.
