Bullshitification

The process by which a person, after having their original argument debunked, replaces or progressively modifies it into a more radical, or extreme claim in order to maintain the appearance of being correct rather than backing down.

After I debunked Parker’s argument about the economy, his claim underwent bullshitification and was replaced with a more radical version that allowed him to avoid admitting defeat.
