Gear Aquisition Syndrome: the term is commonly used by musicians when they suddenly feel the urge to buy a new musical instrument or an accessory for their instrument. It could also be applied to any sort of gear aquisition, not necessarily musical but it's more common amongst musicians.

Augusto saw that white Fender Jag at the local pawn shop last week, I bet he's got some serious G. A. S.
