Car Manufacturer - a *division* of Fuji Heavy Industries ("Subaru" = Japanese for Pleiades and 5 stars represent FHI divisions) , known for utility and all-wheel-drive sedans and wagons including the Outback series. Recently popular for the rally-related Impreza and Impreza WRX/Sti models.

In the U.S., Subaru emphasizes a healthy, outdoorsy lifestyle and uses spokespeople such as famed cancer survivor and 5-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.

Outside of the U.S. -- out of view of US car buyers -- Subaru serves as an advertising vehicle for cigarette companies. Subaru cars sport British American Tobacco company "555" brand cigarette advertisements in World Rally competition.
