1. n. see also 'mosh pit'. an area sometimes allocated nearest the stage at a rock concert in which rockers and/or sometimes emos enjoy the volume of the live music by jumping up and down, headbanging and lifting each other up on to their shoulders, but mostly by slamming into each other as hard as they can to try and knock each other over, fighting with the boys and having sex with the girls.

Types of mosh pit, other than 'regular' mosh, include the 'Wall of Death,' in which the moshers (see below) are divided into two moshes (see below) which then run directly at each other head on, causing the moshers in the front row(s) of each mosh to become crushed by the pressure of the enclosing moshers behind and before them, or the moshers are arranged into a ring of death and then run into the middle causing the circle to close and the inner row(s) of moshers to be crushed by the pressure of the enclosing moshers behind and before them. Many bands choose to only use Wall of Deaths once per gig, as doing it more times causes them to lose too many fans.
