16mm

A motion picture film format using 16mm wide film. Invented in 1923 as a home movie format because 35mm was (and still is) too expensive. Was commonly used in lower budget movies, educational films, and television productions throughout the 20th century.

I was watching an educational 16mm film about zinc when Bart Simpson made a nose-picking joke.

Used in movies when the producers have too much money.

The cinema is presenting a movie in 70mm, they probably have too much money.
