The friend you accidentally acquire when you're in a long-distance relationship. You hang out together so much that the entire town assumes you're dating. He plays along, you play along, and at some point correcting people becomes more effort than it's worth.
Example:
Town: "So when's the wedding?"
Me: "We're not even dating."
Town: "Sure."
Me: "That's my decoy boyfriend. My actual boyfriend lives in another province."
