Although some believe that "zoinks" was made popular on the Saturday cartoon show "Scooby Doo, Where Are You?" (1969-1972), it was in fact popularized on "Batman" (1966-1968) as an exclamation of surprise or urgency. Scooby Doo obviously duplicated this nonsensical word in its television series that ran after Batman was cancelled. Robin after hearing of danger: "Zoinks, Batman!" also used in Batman fight scenes where different sounds are flashed on the screen between blows.
