What you've stumbled into when you go to look something up quickly in Wikipedia only to emerge 3 hours later having followed hundreds of links into myriad topics about which you never thought you would care. Like quicksand, its grip is unrelenting and the more one tries to extricate oneself, the more browser tabs one opens to continue down alternate paths. Usually starts out as a momentary tangent to try to dredge up memories of an old technology or company or natural disaster and quickly turns into an all-day waste of time. Not that learning is a waste of time, but you should really get back to work already. And close some of those tabs.
I only wanted to quickly look up this Senator, but I got stuck in wiksand and now I know all of the African countries by heart and the chemical make-up of capsaicin.

wikiganda

A portmanteau of Wikipedia and propaganda, wikiganda is what issues from the O’Sullivan’s Law-subsumed online encyclopedia that ostensibly "anyone can edit", but which in practice is a thought-policed lie-factory peddling establishment narratives.
"When a CNN or a FOX News bimbette reads some bullshit off her teleprompter, you don't buy it for a second, because yer smart, right? But when the same thing is written in Wikipedia with CNN or FOX as the 'reliable source', your dumb brain will eat it up with a spoon. And the garbage will sit there for years, waiting patiently like poison in an unlabeled container. That's the power of wikiganda."

wikiwander

To move freely about Wikipedia articles without a definite purpose or goal.
"I'm so bored I spent the last 12 hours wikiwandering and ended up in an article about the No. 300 Polish Bomber Squadron."

wikiwander

The process in which a user logs on to Wikipedia to research a specific topic, only to find themselves on a completely unrelated topic several hours later.
Chris: Dude, I went to Wikipedia last night to do some research for my science project.

Mike: Did you find what you were looking for?

Chris: No. I wikiwandered for four and a half hours and found myself reading about the English parliament.

Wikiwanderung

The act of reading through a series of often only tangentially related entries on Wikipedia by following interesting hyperlinks. Often takes up a surprising amount of time.
"What did you do today?"
"Oh I wasted the entire afternoon on one massive Wikiwanderung starting at the 'Tacoma Narrows Bridge' and ending up at 'Fatal Hilarity'."

wikivandalism

Deliberately altering or deleting information on Wikipedia or other online encyclopedias to cause confusion or misguidance.
"I totally screwed those lazy fxxkers up who c&p everything from wikipedia for that last paper."
"But that's wikivandalism!"

wikiwander

The act or process of looking something up in a wiki site, most usually Wikipedia, and then following a trail from there based on entry links which catch your attention.
"I looked up Suzuki motorcycles in Wikipedia and read that it was started in the Shizuoka Prefecture, who's entry told me that a massive earthquake occurs every 100 to 150 years and that the last one was 146 years ago. This prompted my interest in big earthquakes and the wikiwander went from there."
