An image or word(s) that a person or animal get permanently injected under their skin. Tattoos help identify lost or missing animals, like brands used to. On humans they are usually jokes, ugly, and they tend to identify the wearer as trailer trash. Hopefully, after a certain amount of time, the human regrets the tattoo and has it removed.
Me: Thank God my dog has a tattoo on her inner lip. She could have been unidentifiable at the pound and eventually euthanized.

Never Me in a Million Years: Why on earth did get this star tattoo back in 2003? It seemed so neat at the time. Bah.

The art of having ink permenantly put in your third layer of skin. It is a very ancient art, and most modern day people either: 1) Believe it is a stupid act of idiocy, drunkeness, lust, rebellion, or a form of trying to attract/impress others. 2) Believe it is cool, the "hip" thing to do, or a great idea to do without putting any true consideration into it. Any person who is willing to get a tattoo should have a real reason to get it, wether that be self expression, a reminder of something, or a symbol of something(or somebody) you truly care about. Those who feel it is an idiotic/evil thing to do should grow up and start thinking outside the box.
1.
Sensible Newly Inked Person: I got a new tattoo, it's my grandfathers name. He taught me so much, and I want to show everybody that he is always with me.

2.
Retarded Wannabe Rebelious Teenager: Check out this Japanese character I got tattooed on my shoulder! Now all the chicks will think I'm cool, and all the jocks/preps/rednecks will quit making fun of me!

Used to put a permenant mark under your skin to represent a feeling, an event, or in memory of a loved one.

Being tattoed does not mean that you are either conforming or rebelling.

It is a deeply personal matter.

It is simply a way of remembering something in a meaningful way.

However, being "inked" is addictive and tattoos can have negative effects.
parents often have their childrens names inked on themselves out of love and pride.

Likewise, soldiers/firemen/police officers etc. would have deceased peers' names tatto'd on themselves out of respect.

There is a very high number of men in these professions with 9/11 tattoos.

A permanent drawing on the skin that shows that you are a conformist, a follower, a sheep, a person totally incapable of thinking for yourself, a mindless twit devoid of any originality, a twerp who wants to look just like every other tattooed clown in the world.

A tattoo is totally UNCOOL. Just take a look at Grandpa's arm, where he got his tattoo in Honolulu in 1945.
Pangborn got a tattoo, and now she looks just like every other soccer mom in the park.

Everyone relax, tattoos are a reflection of your soul on your skin/flesh. It's a way to lay claim to your body and excercise your right to not give a shit what other people think. Tattoos are something no one can tax or take from you. People who think they are overpriced really don't have any sense of value or self esteem, and should try doing it for a living. Enjoy the self employment tax and overhead. There's a difference between thrifty and cheap.
I just went to Slavedragon Studios today, and Endo did a killer tattoo on me. We worked on it for a week or so gathering resource material and coming up with some custom design work. It was more irritating than painful, yet extremely enjoyable!
