If you are scrubbed into a surgery and it comes to light that you have made a very large mistake in patient management, the attending surgeon may "sterile slap" you. A sterile green towel is placed on your head and the attending slaps you with his hand. This technique maintains the sterile field.
Jon got sterile slapped by Dr. Mutumbo when he found out that he forgot to check the patient's blood work before he scrubbed in.
