The experience during the progress of a sale in which a person standing in line realizes that the person in front of them must purchase everything in the store except the one item that is actually currently in their cart, however they think that they've forgotten it, so they must go and retrieve it, but inevitably is on the other end of the store.
John stood in line at the supermarket waiting for the grocer to retrieve the head of cabbage for the woman in front of him during one of the longest slales of his life.
