nod of recognition

Harley Riders & Jeep drivers do this. Just a little nod to acknowledge one another.
I've seen the nod of recognition many a time whilst in traffic. Pretty cool!

retro recognition

When you re watch an old tv episode or film and recognise someone who you now know as a famous person/character.
Oh my God it's Oberyn Martell in Buffy the vampire slayer, and he looks so young!

Retro recognition can also be pretty much guaranteed by watchingt any old episode of tales from the crypt.

Mark wants to break us using moral reconation therapy, but he can't.

Western Recognition

A term used by kpoppies in a poor attempt to soothe their crippling ego. It is often used to differentiate Validation from Recognition, despite meaning the same thing.
Person A: "We don't need Western Validation. We have Western Recognition instead."

Dictionary: "Actually, they're synonyms of each other, but here's an A for effort."
