Productive Procrastination

Productive Procrastination is what happens when you take speed (Amphetamine, Ethylamphetamine, blue speed) and focus on the wrong things. Instead of doing your homework, you're hyperfocused on cleaning the house, sweeping the floor, mopping the floor, cleaning the windows and mirrors with vinegar, folding laundry, and more.
Tyler: I took 25mg of blue speed (Blue Ethylamphetamine) and I cleaned my room and alphabetized my PS2 videogame collection.

Josh: You're supposed to be doing your homework! You're doing productive Procrastination!

semi-productive procrastination

(noun) When you're doing work that's not the work you should be doing, but instead of just procrastinating you're being semi-productive and doing something that's not really important but still relates to your task.

also: (verb) to semi-productively procrastinate

Similar to pro-crastination, but not nearly as productive. Different in that semi-productive procrastination is still about what you should be doing, and can actually lead to what you should be doing.

Similar to productive procrastination, but different in that when you semi-productively procrastinate, what you're doing still relates a little to what you SHOULD be doing but just isn't it.
kid 1: "Hey are you working on that soc. paper due tomorrow?"
kid 2: "Kinda. I've spent the last hour making an outline for what we're supposed to be writing about."
kid 1: "He didn't ask for an outline."
kid 2: "Yeah I know. I'm semi-productively procrastinating."

parent: "Stop procrastinating on your book report!"
kid: "It's not procrastination -- I'm just reading the book first and then answering the questions."
parent: "Instead of answering as you read?"
kid: "It's SEMI-PRODUCTIVE procrastination."

Productive procrastination

Productive procrastination is efficiently accomplishing everything except for the thing that you most need to do.
I need to write this term paper but before I get started on that I should work out, go grocery shopping, do the laundry, do my readings for the week, and check Facebook... Productive procrastination.

semi-productive procrastination

(noun) what you do when you don't feel like working but aren't procrastinating either. instead, you're being semi-productive regarding what you should be doing. instead of doing your work, you're doing something related to it but completely unnecessary.

also: (verb) to semi-productively procrastinate.

also: (adj.) a semi-productive procrastinator.

DIFFERENT than productive procrastination because you're NOT being fully productive with random things other than your work, nor are you being fully productive with your actual job.
rather, you ARE being somewhat kinda productive towards what you should be doing (but aren't).

similar to quasimultislacking but not exactly.
friend: "i'm working on that current events assignment for tomorrow, how 'bout u?"
semi-productive procrastinator: "yeah me too! i've spent the past 20 minutes trying out different fonts."
friend: "that semi-productive procrastination will be the thing that brings your GPA down."

productive procrastination

putting off doing something which really needs to be done by doing something else instead which needs to be done.
she was an expert in the art of productive procrastination always putting off doing things but getting so much else done instead being such a contrarian.

Productive Procrastination

Putting off school work by doing tasks that you would otherwise put off such as the laundry, washing your car, the dishes, Organizing files on the computer, preparing next semester's schedule, cleaning the bathroom, washing the neighbors dog, cooking, cooking for your neighbor, pairing all of your socks together, looking up driving directions for races 5 months away, and other such tasks.

Benfits: Shit gets done that you ultimately wouldn't have done for days...Side Effects: Straight Up Procrastination (SUP) because you have run out of things to do and have reduced your efficiency by broadcasting your actions which may lead to messing things up just to fix them and being uncharacteristically kind to strangers and people you despise for the sake of staying productive.
Casey: Yo did Justin send you his part of the project so we could review it today?

Max: Nah, man he's Productively Procrastinating again. Alex told me he's been volunteering at the homeless shelter for the last 12 hours.

Casey: Haha, that's just like him. Remember last time he crashed his car just so he could repair it. Ahh well, every now and then Productive Procrastination gets to us all.
