General: A nerd is a person that that is generally defined as a social outcast. Nerds are usually defined as, "one whose IQ is greater than their weight". However, nerds are not always smart. They may vary in different ways. Read below for a detailed definition.

Age range: Could be ages 5-100. most commonly ages 12-24.

Physical Traits of a common nerd: This may vary. They tend to have unatractive qualities or characteristics like, Really skinny build, or really fat, Combed over hair or frizzy hair, acne, thick glasses, big eyebrows, no muscular traits whatsoever, freckles, Buck teeth, braces, carrying science books, pale complextion, (from being seldom outside, high voice, tend to drool often (because their mouth often hangs open), crappy shoes, have overalls -(however rare today), have high striped socks pulled all the way up, a pocket protector, have a Bowtie, or a plaid shirt, and have their hands clamped up like Seals.

Mental traits of a common nerd: Generally, a nerds behaviour often appears odd to others, and nerds rarely notice their odd or eccentric behaviour. For example, most nerds tend to not be interested in any sport(s) whatsoever. They are most commonly REALLY into video games and computers so much, that it becomes an obsession, and they dedicate their lives to it.

Games are the biggest thing amongst nerds, especially online games such as, Counter-Strike, Starcraft, Diablo 2, and dungeons and dragons. Don't get me wrong, nerds are in EVERY online...

Nerd:
Person who typically does not worry too much about appearance or the oppostie sex (or any sex for that matter)
and normally does not even consider breaking rules. They are hard working people who are consider odd by the 'preps'.
There is a different between Geeks and nerds. Geeks may try, but they do not work to their full capability and are obsessed with electronics. nerds care about life and think of the future and become very successful.^^

Someone who has interest in anything with educational value, electronics, RPGs, Sci-fi (books, movies etc), sex, Anime, Music (the kind that can be well known ie: Radiohead, Voltaire, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Dandy Warhols, The Beatles etc.. or underground ie: Noise band music, Hip Hop, etc..), Taking electronic things apart and tweaking/modifying them, Video Games, May like sports, Play an instrument like guitar, drums, violin etc, watches popular shows to educational shows, has a fair amount of friends they are close to, socially well adjusted, knows how to have fun not only in a nerdy but in a cool way too.

well one problem with the nerd section, is that most ppl who commented called themselves nerds. and of course only said good things about themselves. first of all, nerds dont have to be smart, back in middle school i wanted to be a nerd actually. i am very smart but of course i was kicked out of the advanced classes because i didnt do my homework, and thus i flunked. nerds dont have to be smart, anyone can make straight A's if they study for every test and do all their homework and extra credit assignments. nerds are stupid. why the heck should anyone do a ton of work that wont help them?
they dont know more then the rest of us, they just meorize stuff for tests, and brag about how smart they are. guss what, meorizing isnt learning. "i dont have no candy" thats a double negative. i came up with double negatives before i entered kindergarden, i know ppl knew about double negatives before i was born, but i still came up with the same ideal without anyone telling me, thats called being smart, not having lame parents that ground you for getting B's (wich is what motavates nerds) and they do conform, they try and fit in to the political correct person, some with straight A's that goes to college, so that they will still only have a average joba nd make average money. everyone goes to college now days, so your not succsesffull cuz your a fag lawyer, a sucsess would be writing a novel abourt this crappy country and becoming a millionair overnight.nerds suck.

Someone that spends thier entire life playing lame video games such as World of Warcraft and Gears of War. Super-Nerds also cling to Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 often. Super-Nerds use "gamer language", often using idiotic words such as "Pwned!"(Pronounced "Powned"), "Owned!", and "Noob". Super-Nerds are people you do not want to be seen with in public and embarrass themselves with their stupid behavior. They are also socially awkward, often taking a couple years more to mature into adults. Super-Nerds are physically awkward as well, walking like a stick is up their ass or standing stiff as a board. Their personality is stiff as a board too. They have no personality traits unless they are playing online on Xbox Live. If an attractive girl makes contact with a Super-Nerd, he will usually sweat and turn red and not know what to do or say. Lets face it, the only thing he knows how to do is pwn noobs in WoW.
