It can't be true. New Jersey
Used when someone is really surprised at something. For instance, when the bartender explains that they ran out of beer on tap on St. Patrick's Day, the response would be, "You've got to be kidding me!!"

You will say this when you question what is asked or told to you in the most extreme way possible.
Usually you would say "are you kidding?" in a subtle way if your calm but when you become full on angry, angrier that Goku...; ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?
basically...this can be said at any given time when someone asks you a favor, question, a "go do it" order.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?
(Almost at the end of a Halo game, Iron being on..and everyone dies) ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?
(Power goes out when you are downloading super important shit) ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?

A term frequently used by people in the northeastern U.S. when they're getting screwed so bad it's out of the realm of comprehension.

Uh, Bob, what's the Burger of the Day? I'm looking at an empty chalkboard here.
Bob: Well, it's something with gouda cheese. I'm still trying to come up with a name for it.
Tina: Woulda Coulda Gouda. You Gouda Be Kidding Me. As Gouda As it Gets. Gouda Gouda Gumdrops. A Few Gouda Men. Gouda Gouda Two Shoes... comes with shoes. Gouda Day, Sir.
Bob: Uh, Tina, no more espresso for you.
