This means "I am a berliner" (a sort of a pastry, berlin-donut).

The correct way to say "I'm an inhabitant of Berlin" is without the "ein": "Ich bin Berliner."

US leaders have a long, long history in mispronouncing names. Not too long ago George W. Bush called spanish prime minister Aznar "Anzar" during the whole stay in Spain...
