Hipism

When a person has an epiphany based on a conversation with another person or group of friends, where in, a supposedly meaningful conversation about pop culture or society comes to a screeching halt based on a member discussing a reference unknown to the other party, and nothing matters other than acceptance.

"Have you heard that new Grizzly Bear Album?"
"Yeah man, they sound like a collaboration between Nick Drake, The Beatles & Elvis."
"Uh, yeah, Yeah they do."

verb

1. The act of becoming a "hipster," so-called.

2. A man purchasing jeans, from the women's section of Urban Outfitters.

3. When an individual removes all of the gears and brakes from what was once a perfectly acceptable bicycle.

Terry Hawthorne was a cool guy, but then he started hipsmithing. Now he's always smoking American Spirits and wearing shemaghs.

Used to define the beliefs of a modern day "green organic hippy" - consumes only vegan , fresh, untreated, unaltered, unGMO food, believes in and supports conspiracy theories about GMO's and indoctrination of the populus using GMO's by the Illuminati (opinions and ideas centered around second hand, uninformed, knowledge )
