The haikucronym is the poetic hybrid of a haiku and an acronym. It appears in the traditional haiku form of three lines: five syllables, seven syllables, five syllables. The first letter of each word contributes to the acronym which serves as the title for the poem. The haikucronym was created by Jon Hoffman in 2002 for Peace Week at Luther College in Decorah, IA.
