What is the purpose of a Fidget Toy?
Fidget toys are often used to provide sensory input in a less distracting way. They can help improve concentration and attention to tasks by allowing the brain to filter out the extra sensory information (e.g. listening to a lesson in the classroom, paying attention to a book during circle time, focusing during a business meeting or just simply used to help assist with anxiety and stress to calm your mind).

By having a fidget toy, a person may be able to better ‘filter out’ excess sensory information in their surroundings and their own body, which is causing distraction, and encouraging this sensory information to be focused on a Fidget toy in the hands.

Fidget Sensory Integration

Fidget Sensory Integration is the neurological process that organises sensation from one’s own body & from the environment when using a fidget, this makes it possible to use the body effectively when using a sensory tool. We are constantly receiving sensory information from within our bodies and our surrounding environment. We receive sights, sounds, smells, tastes, touches and feedback from our body about movement, balance and our position in our surroundings. These senses all work together, to help us get a sense of who we are, where we are and what is happening around us – hence the term INTEGRATION. You may be familiar with some of the concepts and terms of sensory integration, such as sensory processing, modulation and regulation. In many of life's situations, children & adults are ‘seeking’ extra sensory input they may otherwise not be receiving from their environment. The concept of fidget toys is based on this, where children & adults are seeking things to touch and feel, to provide the ‘just right’ amount of sensory input, to calm their nervous system. Fidget toys are often used to provide sensory input in a less distracting way. Fidget Me Crazy

Fidget Me Crazy has been created by our family (My spouse, our 6 kiddos & myself) founded Fidget Me Crazy because 2 of my children & myself have been diagnosed with ADHD/ADD. I worked diligently for years, trying to research & develop sensory tools to help my children with stress, school, hyperactivity and to assist with focusing on normal daily activities! My spouse is also an educator for a school district that specializes with students that have been diagnosed with Autism, Aspergers, Turrets Syndrome, ADD &/Or ADHD. These students needed assistance with focusing and that's why we created Fidget Me Crazy! We created something for everyone that would help lower stress levels during school, work, and everyday use. After using it for a few days, these students, my children, myself and our fellow co-workers began to get curious and asked for one. It quickly became a must have item in school, at our home and at our work. We knew then that other people can benefit with these amazing fidgets so we started Fidget Me Crazy!
