The Filby Effect 

The Filby effect is where a person/persons revise for exams intesnsely with a large magnitude of time prior to the examination. This early start and volume of revision causes poor exam reaults due to excess preparation.

Symptoms include: Loss of social life before exams and an excesive preference for work during the academic year.

Person 1: I just spent the last 3 weeks revising for this test today.

Person 2: Really?! Unlucky, you'll be subject to The Filby Effect my friend - I started last night.

Fix By Six 

When your boss not only informs you at 4 PM that you have to work late, but that there is a serious issue needing to be solved or paperwork that needs to be done in a hurry before 6:00 PM. Can also be used as an excuse to stay at work after everyone goes home so you can fool around with your boss.

Wife: "Hey, I have to work late tonight. The boss just walked in and gave me a fix by six. Can you start dinner?"

Husband: "Sure, whatever."(knows she's having affair with boss)

Wife: "Yeah, ok then."
